Residents at a direct provision centre in Cork have blocked staff from entering the centre, in a protest at the conditions there.
Staff have been unable to enter the facility, where up to 300 asylum seekers are protesting, since 5am.
The residents at the Kinsale Road facility are demanding that the direct provision system be abolished altogether.
