A judge has order a psychiatric report be carried out on a man accused of murdering his mother in County Wicklow.

21-year-old Bijan Afshar appeared before a special sitting of Bray District Court last night to face the charges.

The body of his mother, 50-year-old Lynn Cassidy, was discovered in a house in the Deepdales estate off the Southern Cross Road in Bray early Friday morning.

A post-mortem revealed she died in violently.
