The government says voters WILL have a rough idea of the level of water charges before the local elections.
The Dáil's been told that although the energy regulator won't make its final decision until August, the government will outline its funding model for Irish Water in the coming weeks.
Last night the energy regulator said it would begin its public consultation in June, with a final decision charges coming in August - only two months before they're due to be applied.
