Converting Moneypoint power station from coal to biomass would save billions, and do away with the need for a network of pylons across the country.

Advocacy group Rethink Pylons commissioned research to look for alternatives to the Government's controversial Grid25 project.

The group says anger is building in communities across the country – with opposition to pylons a major issue in May’'s local elections.
