Officials from the HSE will be asked to explain rules about procurement practices, in light of allegations that gifts and holidays were received by a number of staff at two hospitals in return for commercially sensitive information.
Representatives of the Beacon Hospital will also attend a special meeting of the Oireachtas Health Committee this afternoon.
It follows allegations made during a Prime Time Programme last week, which claimed that some staff at St Vincent's University Hospital and the Beacon received gifts and holidays from a medical supplier.
