Rail services return to normal this morning following a two day strike.

The action by members of SIPTU and the National Bus and Rail Union affected tens of thousands of commuters yesterday, as well as GAA supporters travelling to Croke Park on Sunday.

The action was called after Irish Rail implemented pay cuts, which it says are necessary to secure the future of the company.

The unions plan to go on strike again on the 7th, 8th and 21st of September.
