Workers at Irish Rail have announced plans for rolling work stoppages if the company goes ahead with pay cuts.
The action is due to begin with a 48-hour strike starting Sunday the 24th of August - which could then be followed by a 24 hour stoppage on two Sundays in September.
The National Bus and Rail Union says its members have rejected Labour Court-backed proposals over three separate ballots.
Irish Rail says the savings are essential for the company's survival.
The NBRU says its not too late to reflect on the route they have chose. The union has also called on the Minister for Transport to intervene.
