The Rape Crisis Network of Ireland says a 70 percent funding cut may mean the voice of survivors is silenced.
65 percent of survivors of sexual violence who attend rape crisis centres have not reported to gardai, and are therefore only recorded by the RCNI.
The Network has also written to the Citizens’ Assembly saying that a rape or incest ground for abortion is not workable – and says women pregnant as a result of rape be able to access terminations on health grounds.
