REFUGEE CRISIS - WHAT CAN WE DO?

The picture of Aylan Kurdi broke all of our hearts.

He was 3 and he died face down in the water on a beach in Turkey.

People want to help.

Here's what we can do.

DONATE CLOTHES AND OTHER MATERIALS

Ireland Calais Refugee Solidarity has posted a list of priority clothing items and materials that we can donate.

 

A list of where they can be dropped off can be found on their Facebook page here

People can also donate instore at their local Oxfam shop.

Items of clothing specifically for refugess aren't being accepted at Oxfam stores but you can still donate these items which raise funds for Oxfam's work worldwide.

More than 37,000 people have also signed a petition calling on the Government to take in more refugees.

UN High Commission for Refugees

The agency is tasked with safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of refugees and is heavily involved in helping thousands of displaced families to restart their lives. It is offering shelter and food to those arriving in Europe as well as to victims of war in the Middle East. Details of its resettlement programme here
