Hundreds of children have been allowed into Áras an Uachtaráin today to remember 40 children who died in the 1916 rising.

A special commemoration is being held as the children of today commemorate the lives lost 100 years ago.

For most of the children, it’s their first time at the Presidents residence.

The Children spoke about how they had learned at school about the rising.

Amusements and circus acts were on hand to entertain the young visitors to Aras an Uachtarain
