Rents nationwide have reached their highest ever levels.
The new DAFT.ie Rental Report says the average monthly rent has risen to 1,037 euro.
The report says the three months to the end of June saw the biggest quarterly rise in rents since the Celtic Tiger era.
Nationally, the cost of rent was up by over 11 percent in the year to the end of June. Rents in Dublin are now 5 per cent higher than the previous peak in early 2008.
Cork city has seen the biggest jump in rental costs, up 18 per cent in 12 months. Galway rents are up nearly 14 per cent, in Limerick they're up 15 and a half per cent.
The report also says the number of rental properties advertised is the lowest on record for this time of year.
