There's been a dramatic fall in properties available to rent - which is driving up the cost of renting, right around the country.

According to Daft.ie, the average rent rose by more than 11% in the past 12 months nationally.

The national average is now €933 a month - a €91 increase on last year's figures.

While in Dublin, the average rent is €1,372.
