Details have emerged of a HSE report into patients waiting for a place in a nursing home.
It looks at the reasons why the 705 people waiting in hospitals haven't been discharged, even though they no longer need to be there.
According to the Irish Independent, nearly three quarters of them are waiting for some kind of long term care.
And more than 200 are waiting for funding, or for Fair Deal applications so they can go to another facility.
