Report on Direct Provision due by end May

A report by a working group tasked with examining the system of direct provision will be finished by the end of May.

ItÂ’s 15 years since the system of direct provision was introduced in Ireland, and itÂ’s been the subject of severe criticism, with families languishing in centres for years.

Those working with refugees say they'Â’ll wait to see the report, before welcoming the news, saying promises have been broken before.
