Gardaí have declined to comment on reports that 5 staff members from the Aras Attracta care home in County Mayo are to face criminal charges - deeming it 'inappropriate'.
Allegations of abuse at the home for people with intellectual disabilities were first raised in a Prime Time documentary last year.
A number of staff were suspended in the aftermath, and gardaí subsequently launched an investigation into the allegations.
It's reported today that the DPP has directed charges be brought in relation to 5 of those working at Aras Attracta - however, Gardai say the investigation is ongoing and it would be 'inappropriate' to comment at this time.
