A judge in the north has ruled that veteran republican Ivor Bell from West Belfast will stand trial over the alleged involvement in the 1972 murder of mother-of-10 Jean McConville.
Mrs McConville, from Divis flats in West Belfast, was abducted by an IRA gang, after she was wrongly accused of passing information to the British security forces.
She was interrogated, shot in the back of the head and secretly buried, becoming one of the north's so-called 'Disappeared'.
Her remains were finally located 31 years later at a beach in Co Louth, 50 miles from her Belfast home.
