The Minister for Communications says he's looking at tasking the Revenue Commissioners with collecting the new Broadcasting charge.
Pat Rabbitte says replacing the current TV licence with the new fee is necessary because of changes in technology - and high evasion rates in Ireland.
A consultation paper has been launched today by the minister - he's asking for an expression of public opinion on the new charge.
