Revenue has extended the LPT deadline to from 8 pm this evening to 4 o'clock on Friday January 9th.
Revenue says it has been receiving almost 8,000 payment notifications an hour over the past 2 days.
It is also experiencing a heavy volume of calls on its helpline.
Revenue is also reminding customers that most transactions can be done through the online system without any need to make contact.
