Revenue Officers have seized alcohol and cigarettes worth over eight and a half thousand euro at Dublin Port.

The 445 litres of alcohol and 2,680 cigarettes were discovered during the search of a van which had disembarked a ferry from Holyhead.

The van was driven by a Romanian national who is an Irish resident.

The undeclared goods represent a potential loss to the Exchequer of around five thousand one hundred euro.
