The number of parents receiving warning notices for not sending their children to school is on the rise.
Figures released to the Examiner newspaper by the child and family agency Tusla show 553 School Attendance Notices were issued last year.
Despite the rise in truancy - fewer court summons are being issued - and just 9 convictions followed on from court appearances.
