The River Shannon burst its banks last night as more heavy rain hit the areas worst affected by Storm Desmond at the weekend.
Flood relief efforts are continuing in counties Clare, Limerick and around Athlone in Westmeath - with many homes and businesses severely damaged.

The army has been deployed to the region to help local authorities.
Met Eireann says there may be some respite from rain and wind today - but further stormy conditions are expected over the weekend.
