Gardaí in County Louth are investigating an aggravated burglary at an elderly man's house in Drogheda.

A garda spokesperson said the victim was a man in his late 70s.

Two men entered the property on Duleek Street just after midday.

One man is described as being tall, dark haired and wearing dark clothing while the second is shorter and was wearing light coloured clothing.

The suspects left the house with a significant sum of money.

No arrests have been made and no injuries were reported.
