An Irish man will appear in court in Leeds tomorrow morning charged with attempting to engage in sexual activity with a 13-year-old girl.

The man who is an employee of RTE was arrested yesterday (Saturday) and remains in police custody in the UK.

Police in Leeds have confirmed they were called to deal with reports of a man attempting to engage or incite sexual activity with a child in Leeds.

He will appear at Leeds Magistrates Court tomorrow morning when the courts start at 9.45am.

RTÉ issued a statement to say they have been made aware of this matter, which is being dealt with by the Leeds Police Force in the United Kingdom.

The company says they have no further comment at this time.
