NATO says Russia is on a "dangerous path" after taking control of Ukraine's Crimea region.

The organisation says President Putin is in "blatant breach" of international commitments.

The EU is preparing further sanctions against Russia.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's prime minister says the fatal shooting of one of its soldiers on a base in Crimea is "a war crime".

Ukraine has authorised its troops to fire in self-defence, following the incident.
