Some secondary schools are still not teaching pupils about relationships and sex education, according to data from school inspections.

It's one of a range of educational shortcomings highlighted in a report in today's Irish Independent.

School standards are coming under increasing scrutiny after the number of inspections were ramped up in recent years.

Among the findings, inspectors reported on a gaelscoil that taught inaccuracies in spoken Irish.

In another school, parents complained that the financial contribution was not voluntary.
