Former Formula One star Michael Schumacher has shown "moments of consciousness" after months in a coma.

His agent said the F1 champion continues to make a positive recovery after a skiing accident just after Christmas.

Doctors began the process of gradually awakening Schumacher more than nine weeks ago.

The 45-year-old is receiving intensive care in a French hospital.
