Scores of migrants are still missing after their inflatable dinghy sank just off the Libyan coast.

The dinghy was found taking on water in rough seas after the Italian coast guard received a satellite phone call.

A merchant ship brought the 26 survivors the island of Lampedusa.

So far around 27-thousand refugees and other migrants have reached Italy by boat, most of them setting out from Libya.
