Scotland's parliament has backed a second independence referendum.
MSP's voted by 69 to 59 in favour of Nicola Sturgeon's proposal.
The Scottish First Minister says she will lodge a formal request with the UK government in the next few days.
British Prime Minister Theresa May has been saying "now is not the time" for a second independence referendum.
But Sturgeon says it would be "democratically indefensible" for the British government to stand in the way of another vote.
She is insisting Scots should be given a clear choice, once the shape of the Brexit deal has been agreed.
