The issue of seagulls has been raised in the Seanad again - with the birds being described as "endangering society".
Fianna Fáil senator Denis O'Donovan says urgent action is needed to solve the seagull scourge, and is calling for a cull of the birds to deal with their anti-social behaviour.
The comments from O'Donovan come almost exactly a year after the issue was infamously raised by Fianna Fáil senator Ned O'Sullivan, who had complained that children were "being dispossessed of their lollipops".
Yesterday British Prime Minister David Cameron called for the protected status of seagulls to be scrapped after attacks on people and animals.
This afternoon - to the amusement of some government senators - O'Donovan said action against these birds is needed.
