A jury has been sworn in for next Monday's trial of former Anglo Irish Bank Chairman Sean FitzPatrick.

The 66 year old from Greystones has pleaded not guilty to 27 counts alleging that he failed to disclose the true value of multimillion euro bank loans between 2002 and 2007.

It took just over an hour to swear in a jury for the 6 week trial of former Anglo Irish Bank Chairman Sean FitzPatrick.

Among the charges it's alleged the former banker knowingly or recklessly gave false statements to the bank's auditors Ernst and Young about the value of multimillion euro loans given to him or persons known to him.

Judge Mary Ellen Ring told the jury panel they need to be impartial and should not serve if they've publically expressed views on Anglo Irish Bank or the banking crisis on social media sites like Facebook and twitter, that may cause later embarassment.

The jurors had to give their occupation before taking the oath – they work in areas like IT, childcare, property management, marketing.

There were a few challenges from Sean FitzPatrick's defence team– against a public representative, a security worker and a TV3 news editor.
