A search is continuing for a fisherman who fell overboard from a Spanish trawler south west of the Blasket Islands.

The 46 year old Spaniard was onboard a boat currently operating from Castletownbere in West Cork.

He was reported as falling overboard around 6.30 last night, and a search was mounted by the Valentia RNLI Lifeboat and the Irish Coastguard helicopter, Rescue 115.

The LE Aisling is also due at the scene to help in the search this morning.
