Teens are to be offered sexual consent classes in schools as part of a new programme.

The Irish Independent reports Children's Minister Katherine Zappone is leading the campaign.

The course will be offered to transition year students in 60 schools, they'll get 12 hours of training in a bid to explore their understanding of consent

Educators hope it will change perceptions of consent and reduce sexual violence.
