Alan Shatter has launched a blistering attack on the Senior Counsel whose report forced him to resign.
The former justice minister has claimed Sean Guerin took on the roles of "judge, jury and executioner" and entirely ignored fair procedures.
Deputy Shatter says he was "secretly put on trial" in the report, which did not attempt to contact him.
The Dail was debating the findings of the Cooke report when the former minister took to his feet.
He said the senior counsel had ignored "basic principles of constitutional and natural justice" by not giving him a chance to respond to the findings which were ultimately made against him.
It's the first time the former minister has commented on the findings of Guerin's report into the handling of Maurice McCabe's allegations of Garda malpractice.
Given his blistering criticism, and claims that his natural rights were breached, the question now is whether Alan Shatter will consider further measures to try and restore his name.
