A 54 year old man remains in a serious condition after being shot a number of times in Cabra in North Dublin last night.

The incident happened on Killala Road at around half past seven.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was brought to the Mater Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Gardai are treating the incident as attempted murder and witnesses are being asked to come forward.
