A new Irish short film is hoping to raise awareness about male victims of domestic violence.

'The Black' is being shot this month in Kenmare in Co Kerry and will be released in July.

The story is told through the eyes of a young girl who witnesses a violent incident between her parents.

The makers of the movie are hoping to shed light on the amount of men suffering domestic violence in silence.

The organisation Amen has reported increases in the number of calls received, and in demand for counselling and one to one support sessions.
