The Sinn Fein Party and leadership is being heavily criticised over its handling of Maíria Cahill's allegations of abuse.

Mary Lou McDonald has said she believed the abuse happened but doesn't support the claims that her party covered it up.

Sinn Fein Councillor Daithi Doolan says he has every confidence in her, but it's a State issue and not a party one.
