Sinn Féin TD Brian Stanley's deleted his social media accounts following controversy over tweets.
He had appeared to glorify the violence of the War of Independence and the Troubles at the weekend in a post which he's deleted, while he also received backlash over a 2017 post that seemed to show him comment on Leo Varadkar's sexuality.
The chair of the Public Accounts Committee apologised to his colleagues for the tweet at the weekend, which he said fell below the standards he set for himself.
He has deleted his Twitter and Facebook accounts, while Sinn Féin has said it was his personal decision.
