Senior Sinn Fein member Bobby Storey is to take legal proceedings against Northern Ireland's Chief Constable.
At a press conference today Mr Storey claimed the PSNI had no evidence when they arrested him as part of their investigation into the murder of Kevin McGuigan.
The murder has led to political turmoil in Stormount where DUP members, who blame the IRA for the death, have refused to power share with Sinn Féin.
