The son of Sinn Fein TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh, who'd been missing since last Saturday night, has been found safe and well.

16 year old Lorcán Ó Snodaigh went missing following an incident in which his older brother Fearghal was stabbed.

18 year old Fearghal Ó Snodaigh is making a good recovery in hospital.

In a statement this evening, Deputy Ó Snodaigh confirmed Lorcán has been located

Deputy Ó Snodaigh has appealed for privacy for his family as they deal with the trauma of the last few days.

He said;

"My son Lorcán has been found safe."I want to thank friends, comrades, members of the public, the Gardaí and the many more people unknown to me who helped myself and my family to search for Lorcán over the last few days."I would now ask for privacy for my family while we deal with the trauma of the last few days."
