Investigations are underway after a human skull and a bone were found on a beach in north Dublin.

The remains were found on Burrow Beach in Sutton around 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon by a man out walking.

Gardai say the skull appears to have been in the water for some time, and a doctor has confirmed it's human.

Both have been removed to the morgue, to be examined and identified.
