A man in his mid 20's has died after taking a slimming product bought online.
The Health Products Regulatory Authority says the product he purchased contained DNP, which can speed up the body's metabolism.
The chemical compound, dinitrophenol was created in the 1930's, but discontinued in 1938.
The HPRA and gardai are investigating.
