A man has been arrested following an attempted armed robbery at Rush Post Office in Dublin.
A man wearing a balaclava and carrying what's believed to be a firearm and a hatchet entered the facility, threatened staff and demanded money at half past ten this morning.
Nothing was stolen and he fled the scene in a red Ford Fiesta.
Gardaí from Balbriggan and Swords later stopped a red ford Fiesta on the M1.
A firearm and hatchet were recovered and a 30 year old man was arrested and taken to Balbriggan Garda station.
