Stalemate continues between secondary teachers and government

Around 400 secondary schools will not reopen after the mid-term break unless progress is made in talks between the ASTI and the Department of Education.

The Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland has been holding its own meeting since this morning, and has agreed to meet with the Department again as soon as possible.

But as Industry Correspondent for the Irish Times Martin Wall explains, so far, the stalemate between both sides remains in place:
