The state spent 75 million euro getting outside legal opinion last year.

The Office of the Attorney General was the biggest spender - forking out 52 million euro on legal services.

The Chief State Solicitor spent almost 10 million and the DPP 13 million.

The figures have been released by the Public Accounts Committee which is today examining how the money was spent.
