The US Immigration Department in Boston is due to issue a statement later about the Irish Nanny who's being deported.

Aisling Brady McCarthy, who's 37 and from Co Cavan, was cleared of murdering a baby in her care but was detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials for outstaying a holiday visa in 2002.

Last night, a spokesman said she'd be leaving the United States "imminently".

The Department of Foreign Affairs says it's providing consular assistance to her family.
