Still no resolution to Luas pay row

SIPTU says it is available to continue talks to resolve the LUAS dispute.

Pay talks between both sides broke down at the Workplace Relations Commission last night, and the Transport Minister says he won't get involved.

However, the LUAS operator Transdev is insisting it hasn't walked away from the talks table.

Gerry Madden says the drivers' reduced pay claim is still "off the scale".

But he will continuing negotiations with two other staff grades at the company.

On the Last Word, John Murphy from SIPTU said, if that's the case, then the company should keep talking to the drivers too:

 

 

The Transport Minister Pascal Donoghue says the only place the row can be resolved is at the WRC.

He also says changing the Luas contract could open up a a whole world of other problems:
