Up to half a million people are being moved out of their homes along India's east coast which is in the path of a powerful storm.

Cyclone Hudhud is packing 120 mile-per-hour winds and is due to hit the coast in the Bay of Bengal this morning.

Cyclone Hudhud gets it's name from the Hoopoe bird.

Meanwhile, at least 35 people have been injured in a powerful typhoon which is battering the south of Japan.

Typhoon Vongfong, with winds of over 230 kilometres per hour and heavy rain, caused severe flooding, trees to be uprooted, and cut power to more than 60,000 homes.
