Workers in South Dublin County Council are taking strike action today in a dispute over pay cuts.
The work stoppage involves 600 members of the IMPACT trade union.
It will see the closure of civic offices in Tallaght and Clondalkin - as well as the closure of 7 libraries in the council area.
IMPACT says its members in depots providing water, drainage and other services will only respond to emergency call-outs.
The Council says its offices and libraries will close today and tomorrow.
