A strong earthquake has struck in the ocean near northern Japan - triggering a small tsunami close to the Fukushima nuclear plant.
20 centimetre waves reached the coast nearly an hour after the 8-point-6 magnitude quake, which happened just before 7.30 last night Irish time.
At least one person was injured but no damage was reported.
