Students at UCC are being urged to be on the look out for the symptoms of meningitis after a 20 year old student died from the disease.
The Meningitis Research Foundation has received a number of calls from concerned students.
Meningitis is the inflammation of the lining around the brain and spinal cord and up to 200 cases are reported in Ireland every year.
1 in 10 of them result in death.
